My First Birthday - January 31st, 2007

I am officially one year old. I actually turned one year old very, very early this morning while I was still sleeping. When my mommy got me up she told me the news. I had a banner day with treats, singing, birthday well wishes, and lots of attention. I had so much fun tonight at dinner with my mommy and daddy I didn't even get to open all my presents. My daddy says they'll still be there tomorrow to open.
It's been an incredible year - I've learned so much that it makes one's head spin.
I want to thank all my family and friends for the love, kindness, and fun they've shown me this year. I couldn't have done it without all of you! I would also like to thank my agent, the people at DreamWorks...(oops - that's my Oscar speech.) Anyway, thank you to you all. Let's see what great things year #2 has in store...........

Birthday countdown

Just 3 days to go until my first birthday...yippee! I kicked off the celebration last night with the help of the neighbors. The Inglewood Avenue crew came over to share in cupcakes and singing. I provided the entertainment as any good host should. I demonstrated my climbing skills up and down the stairs. My inspiration was Sir Edmund Hillary. (Today in the pool with my mom my inspiration was Mark Spitz but that's a tale for another time.) I've got a few more birthday plans lined up for this coming week. Let the festivities begin!

Moving on up....

We had the Sarazins, Murphys, Folkestads, and Kyle over on New Year's day - one final holiday gathering before the long, boring winter sets in. And then to my great surprise I had a super exciting week. I made the transition to the older infants room. In older infants, I eat my meals on a little chair at a little table with my buddies. We all take naps at the same time on our own little cots. High chairs and cribs are for little babies, not big shots like me and my new buddies. I'm having a ball! My Mom is going to take some photos this next week and post them on my blog. Usually kids move up at 12-13 months but my pretty teacher Laura told my parents that I am very mature for my age. For some reason this seemed to be very funny for my parents. I showed them this week - just see how big I am!

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays one and all! My Baron grandparents David and Gail came to town for the holidays from Texas as well aunt Dena and uncle Jim from DC. I think they were all happy to see my new skills. Grandma and Grandpa stayed overnight with me one night so my parents could have a night away downtown. I had a lot of fun having them stay with me. They seem to think I'm pretty cool. Mom, Dad, and I hosted Christmas Eve and Christmas morning so there was lots of merry time with the Baron relatives. Uncle Kyle gave me a little red wagon Mom says I can take for a spin in the spring. I did my first overnight on New Year's Eve at my Sarazin grandparents. And just to be nice I slept in until 8am! Mom, Dad, and I got lots of eating, drinking, and making merry in December. I have decided I like the holidays with all the gatherings, treats, lights, presents, candles, and such.
I hope you all had happy and festive holidays too. And happy new year to you and yours!
